"Pabėgęs" megztinis

Kodėl pabėgęs? Dėl nuleistos akies ;) siūliukus pirkau prieš gerus metus, vis niekaip nesugalvojau, ką čia tokio iš jų nusiregzti. Rezultate - paprastas, minimalistinis megztinis su 1 paleista akimi priekyje ir 1.5 nugaroje. Siūliukas plonytis tačiau kadangi didžiąją dalį sudaro merinosų vilna ir moheris, šiltas. Skubėjau kuo greičiau pabaigti, kad spėčiau iki atvės orai. Kaip visada, turėjau labai "susiimti", kad ne tik numegzčiau, bet ir susiūčiau. Kartais man taip nutinka, kad susiuvimas užtrunka gerokai ilgiau, nei mezgimas :D Ir dar vienas dalykas "kaip visada" - siūlų reikėjo mažiau, ne patarė pardavėja. Liko 1.5 matkelio, bet gal geriau liko, nei būtų tiek pritrūkę.. 

"Slip" pullover

Why "slip"? Of course that's because of the slip stitch ;) I bought this yarn more than a year ago and couldn't decide what to knit. So the result is a simple, minimalistic pullover with 1 slip stitch in front and 1.5 stitch in the back. This yarn is very thin (25 g 250 m), it consist mostly of moher and merino wool, so it's really warm. I was eager to finish it fast so I have it ready when the weather gets a bit cooler. Just as always, I really had to pull myself together so that I not only knit it fast but also sew with no delay. It has happend with me some times that sewing took longer than knitting itself :D One more thing - just as always I needed less yarn than I bought. On the other hand it's better I have some left rather then if I missed some...

siūlai...

Taip taip, ir vėl neatsispyriau pagundai - nusipirkau siūlų... Bet kaip galima nepirkti, kai randi tokį gėrį :D Praeitą savaitę su ravelry nare Anna iš Estijos, puikiai kalbančia lietuviškai, buvome Ditekse Žvėryne. Pamėgau siūlus babinose, nors anksčiau jie mane truputį gąsdino, nes neaišku, koks metrų ir svorio santykis. Anyway, šįkart išsirinkau tamsiai pilkos/melsvos spalvos plonytį moherį. Niekad nebūčiau pagalvojus, kad yra tiek daug skirtingų pilkos spalvos atspalvių! Pavyko susivaldyti ir nusipirkau tik 50 g, pakaks neypač dideliam šaliui ar skarai. Nekantrauju išbandyti :)

Yarn

Yes yes, I admit it, I did not resist the temptation to buy more yarn... But how can you not buy, when find something you really like? Last week together with the Ravelry member Anna from Estonia, who by the way speaks fluent Lithuanian, we went to yarn shop Diteksas in Vilnius. I started to like yarn wich is not in balls, but in bobins. Its a bit harder to decide how much you need, cause it doesn't say meters and weight. Anyway, I bought extra fine dark grey/blue moher. I never thought there was so many different shades of grey! I restricted myself and bought only 50 g, which should be enough for not middle size shawl or wrap. I can't wait to start! :)

Rožės ir ledai

Praeita savaitė sugrąžino mane atgal į darbinę atmosferą. Greitai ir efektyviai :) Du projektai, prasidedantys tuo pat metu, garantuoja "šaltą dušą". Gal taip ir geriau. Tik vienintelio dalykėlio trūksta - laiko mezgimui. Melsvai alyvinis "lengvumas" jau beveik baigtas, liko tik susiūti rankoves ir apsispręsti dėl kaklo. Kriauklelinė suknelė taip pat kantriai laukia savo eilės. Nuoširdžiai tikiuosi, kad dar pavyks ją šiemet bent kartą pranešioti :)

Beje, padariau džiuginantį atradimą - namuose gaminti ledai. Pasirodo, viskas paprasčiau, nei atrodo. O skonis tikrai nenuvylė :) Netyčia radau puikų receptą kokono bloge. Paprasta, skanu ir greita. Siūlau išbandyti.

Roses and ice cream

Last week brought me back to working atmosphere. Fast and efficent :) Two projects, starting at the same time, guarantee a "cold shower" :) Maybe it's even better that way. The only time I miss is time for knitting. My "blue - purlpe lightness" (pullover) is almost finished, its only sleeves that need to be sewn and I have to decided how to make the neck. The "shell" dress is waiting its turn. I sinserely hope I will try it out this season :)
By the way, I made a discovery last week. It's home made ice cream. Yummy! It turns out its not as difficult as I thought it was. The taste was really great! I found a reciepy accidently on kokonas blog. Simple, fast and tasty. Recommend :)

Knyga

Sakoma, tepk roges vasarą. Tą ir darysiu. Na greičiausiai nesigaus jau taip labai iš anksto, bet: šiandien pirkau Irenos Filomenos Juškienės knygą apie riešines:

Smagu tai, kad pateikta tikrai daug riešinių pavyzdžių su raštų lentelėmis, tad neteks pačiai šifruoti. Panašu, kad riešinės mano maža silpnybė - mažas, daug vietos neužimantis mezginys, kurį patogu pasiimti į kelionę ar megzti tarp stambių mezginių atsikvėpimui.

A book

There is a saying in Lithuanian "prepare your slades for winter in the summer". Probably it won't happen exactly like that, but today I bought a Lithuanian pattern book called "Riešinės" ("wrist warmer"). I like this book, cause there are lots of authentic examples of Lithuanian wrist warmers and there even are charts, so I won't have to do it myself. It seems like wrist warmers is my sweet weekness. It's a small knitwear, that you can work on wherever, it doesn't take much space to take it on travel or have it as "holiday" knit between bigger projects.

Sanpaulijos

Beje - metas pasigirti gėlynėliais, palangės tiesiog "lūžta" :D Mano aistra - veislinės sanpaulijos. Paskutiniai metai joms buvo nelengvi - pradėjau dirbti darbe, atsirado Maja, išsireikalaujanti nemažai dėmesio ir laiko, tad išgyveno stipriausios... Ir nepavargdamos puošia palanges :)

African Violets

By the way, its time to show my flowers, which have completely taken over all the space around the window. African violets is my old passion. Last year hasn't been easy for them. I started working, got a wonderful golden retriever Maja, which takes quite a lot of my attention and time. This means only the "most willing to live" violets survived extream conditions and make my windows beautidul :) Here are some:






Gražu? Man taip pat. O šios dvi ieško naujų namų - iš lapukų pasidaugino taip gausiai, kad pas mane jau sunkiai telpa...

You like it? I do. The two next is searching for new home. I got leaves more than a year ago and it has produced so many "babies" I don't have space enough for all... :)

Jūrų šventė

Pusiau planuotai, pusiau ne, šį savaitgalį buvau neeiliniame renginyje regatoje - "The tall ship race Baltic", kuris vyko 50-osios Jūrų šventės metu. Turiu pripažinti, kad buvau truputį skeptiškai nusiteikusi - karšta, geriau jau kur po medžiu pajūry pagulėti nei grūstis į spūstis vien tam, kad pavėpsočiau į laivus... Ir ką gi, turiu atsiimti savo žodžius - buvo tikrai įspūdingas reginys pamatyti Klaipėdoje tokį kiekį burlaivių, žavinčių tiek savo dydžiu, galimybėmis, istorija ir puikia šventine nuotaika. Sea festival

Half planned, half not, last weekend I got to attend quite an extra ordinary event - The tall ship race Baltic 2009, which was a part of the 50th Sea Festival in Lithuanian harbour town Klaipeda. I have to admit that I was a tiny bit sceptical about going there: it was so warm, I'd rather lie down on the beach instead of fighting in a crowd of people to survive. I have to take back my words - the view was really was worth seeing - so many sailing boats, impressive by size, history, atmosphere. I'm glad so share some photos with you:
