Although the surprise has turned into mittens a while ago, it was only today that I finally took pictures of it: it was either too dark, or too grey, or not finished with the loose yarn ends, or couldn't find camera... I guess its not gonna be many sunny days when there still are some leaves on the trees, so finally I pulled myself together and took pictures today. So far I can not tell if these mittens will be liked or not. They are rather thick, a bit curse, but not so much that it would be uncomfortable on the hands. Perhaps I should have used bigger needles? It was fun to knit it though, it's great fun when colors are changing so quick. By the way - the pattern is traditional Lithuanian (which is hard to tell because of the rich colors) - I took it from the oldest Lithuanian knitting book whcih came in 1933, Sodziaus menas 5 by A.Tamosaitis.
